This is one of the worst human tolls in a single day for the Israeli army. Eight Israeli soldiers died “during operational activity in the south of the Gaza Strip”, announced the army in a press release on Saturday June 15. Only one of them has seen his name released by the Israeli army at the time of writing this article. The army explained that their Namer, an armored personnel carrier, had exploded in the Rafah region.

The Israeli army launched an assault on this town on the southern edge of the Gaza Strip on May 7, sparking strong criticism from the international community. Since the start of the Israeli offensive on October 27, 306 Israeli soldiers have been killed. In retaliation for the October 7 attacks carried out by Hamas, during which 1,194 people were killed, the military operation in the Gaza Strip left 37,296 dead, mostly civilians, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health, administered by Hamas.
