An application under government surveillance. The spokesperson for the Ministry of the Interior and Overseas has warned of the dangers of the new Ten Ten application, which appeals to adolescents. Recently launched, it is now the most downloaded French application on the Apple Store and Android stores. Transforming its users’ smartphone into a walkie-talkie, it allows everyone to send a voice message that resonates with its recipient by being broadcast on the phone’s speaker, even when it is on standby.
It is very popular with middle and high school students. The app’s current privacy policy and terms of use are among the government’s concerns. The Home Office is also concerned that the operation of Ten Ten increases the risk of online harassment and invasion of privacy.
