The indignity of your death, Marcel, dishonors us

Marcel, we found your body in a trash can: only 61 years old, not old, and what’s more, billiards champion in the basement of Saint-Roch church! It was said that you were a very good guy, “always with his shirt tucked into his pants, and he had his little cap on”, we read in the article about you which recounts this unthinkable and shameful death that we made you: we threw your corpse in a trash can! The title of the article says: “It’s all our fault, basically. We escaped. ” TRUE ! That’s exactly it, we ignored you to the point of killing you! Marcel, I could have been you, dear Marcel Saint-Laurent! I say to myself: yes, this cruel and filthy thing could have happened to me, this vile thing could have happened to all of us. There was no deadly earthquake, no earthquake, no, nothing, no reason for you to find yourself, Marcel, in a trash bin in “current” Quebec. No flood or war like in Ukraine, no, nothing, Marcel, an average citizen, a nice-looking Everyman, and billiard champion! Why then this undignified and revolting death? How can we explain that you were treated like trash, Marcel, trash, thrown in a trash can? Where are the charitable hands in this country, spreading care and charity? Your death tears our hearts and shows that we no longer have honor.
