The immersive installation “Field of light” arrives in New York

Some 19,000 multicolored lights illuminate a vacant lot in the heart of Manhattan, like so many stems forming an immense field of lights.

British artist Bruce Munro presented his work “ Field of Light », installed for one year.

“It’s a very gentle experience,” he explains. Everyone will come out, I hope, with a smile on their face.”

“The inspiration behind this work began 30 years ago in Australia, in the Northern Territories of Australia,” he explains. It took me ten years to make it happen. To put it simply, I experienced a sense of joy and connection with the landscape. I felt so happy that I needed to express it in some form, and thus was born Field of Light. »
