The president of the Grand Est region, Jean Rottner, and the National Confederation of tobacconists sign an agreement this Wednesday, in Arrigny, south of the Marne, near Lake Der. “It’s a historic day”, greets Philippe Coy on France Bleu Champagne-Ardenne. The president of the Confederation of tobacconists specifies that this is the first time that such a partnership has been established with a region.

“The objective is first of all to strengthen the training offer for our network, to strengthen the network of tobacconists serving the territories”, explains Philippe Coy, who claims to have already identified 46 municipalities in the Grand Est which could be distribution points for the TER and Grandes Lignes SNCF offer.
“The network of tobacconists is the network closest to the furthest away”
Philippe Coy also sees “recognition of work” tobacconists from the Grand Est, who have been put forward as “essential businesses” during confinements. Tobacconists are no longer just tobacco sellers, but of the _“shops of local utility”,_insists the president of the National Confederation of tobacconists.
“A few years ago, you already came to buy your car sticker from the tobacconist, so we were already in the service to the public, and we want to modernize it and make it more accessible”, insists Philippe Coy, for whom “the network of tobacconists is the network closest to the most distant”.
