A Health Defense Council took place on Monday, December 27. No major announcement was made, despite the assumptions made in the previous days. The government relies in particular on individual responsibility.

Faced with the spread of the virus, the executive is opting for a soft strategy for the moment, without overly restrictive announcements. The government decided, Monday, December 27, to focus on the vaccination campaign and reduce the time between the second injection and the booster dose. “We do not wait four or five months to make a booster. As early as three months after the last injection or infection, we can receive this third dose”, announced Olivier Véran, Minister of Health. A measure that aims to speed up the Omicron variant, which is very contagious.

From the start of the school year, teleworking will also be made compulsory, for three weeks, at the rate of at least three days per week, in companies where this is possible. Another measure adopted: the ban on eating or drinking in cinemas, theaters and transport, even long distance. Finally, these announcements mark the return of the gauges: 5,000 people maximum outdoors, and 2,000 indoors.
