The government spokesperson acknowledges this. Olivier Véran said on Wednesday October 19 that the executive should “obviously do better” on the application of the obligations to leave French territory (OQTF). He was questioned by journalists, after the Council of Ministers, on the murder of Lola, a 12-year-old girl killed in atrocious conditions. The main suspect is a 24-year-old Algerian woman who had been under an OQTF since August 22, with no obligation to immediately leave the country.

“All people who receive an OQTF are not necessarily placed in detention centers pending deportation”, recalled the government spokesman. Olivier Véran clarified that the executive was working “flat out so that evictions can take place as soon as the decrees are announced”.
