The Girondins do not tremble in the derby against Stade Bordelais (3-0)

No surprise in the Bordeaux derby in the 7th round of the Coupe de France. The Girondins logically won against Stade Bordelais, 3 to 0, this Saturday evening at the Sainte-Germaine du Bouscat stadium in front of 4,500 spectators. Hooked until half-time by their neighbors playing in National 2, the fourth French level, the Marine et Blanc ended up making the difference in the second act thanks to goals from Zuriko Davitashvili on penalty then from Yoann Barbet and Logan Delaurier-Chaubet.

The Girondins have a sixth match without defeat in all competitions. David Guion: “We are happy to pass this round, especially since it was not easy to understand as a match. It was a derby, but in addition a local derby squarely within the city. So, I have a few players who are particularly attached and who did not want to be left behind (smiles). It was a particular context but there was a very good atmosphere, a very good party with a lot of respect on the pitch. We saw a good match and Had a great evening.” As expected, the Girondins were not worried, apart from a nice save from Rafal Strazcek at 1 to 0. They made a new clean sheet in the process.

Very serious Girondins

But we will especially remember the beautiful atmosphere in the stands with a South Bend improvised by the Ultramarines. “I had never known the Sainte-Germaine stadium like that. Frankly, it was super nice to play in this atmosphere”, admits Stade Bordelais midfielder Ayoub El-Zaytouni. Nobody was taken down, David Guion had also lined up an almost typical team for this confrontation: “We are never safe and I found that we had been very serious. We gave them nothing, it is important to show respect and humility in these kinds of conditions.”

An attitude appreciated by the staff and players of Stade Bordelais. Nicolas Piresse, the opposing coach: “The public was very correct. For the club and the event in general, it was a great party. The strongest won but in any case congratulations to the players, staff and public because it was a great moment.”
