the Girondines are starting from a blank page this season

This Saturday, it’s the resumption of the Women’s D1 with our Girondines. They start this season from a blank slate, much like the whole club. They too thought they would disappear this summer, which would have been even more infuriating because if there is something that has been going well at the club in recent years, it is the women’s team. But, finally, they will be there this Saturday on the lawn of the Sainte-Germaine stadium from 2:30 p.m. to face Le Havre.

FCGB Women new look, we can say because there have been a lot of changes in the off-season. It was necessary to further reduce the sail with the financial problems of the club. The budget has dropped below the two million euro mark. If Patrice Lair will still be on the bench this season, the technical director Francisco Fardilha has, for example, left the club. So far it has not been replaced.

Maintenance objective above all this season

On the ground, the club will bet on youth since almost all the executives of the workforce have left the ship: Périsset, Bilbault, Jaurena, Lavogez or Snoeijs. Only three recruits joined the club in return for lack of means. Today, the team is made up of about fifteen confirmed elements and completed by very young players.

Patrice Lair will therefore rely on the history of the club: Thibaud, Lardez or Garbino, hoping for the emergence of other players like Palis or Dufour. The objectives have of course been revised downwards. Even if the club hopes to stay at the top of the D1 table, it will above all have to quickly ensure the maintenance and develop all its young players to dream of a brighter future again.
