The funeral of Françoise Hardy, who died on June 11 at the age of 80, will be organized on Thursday June 20 at the Père-Lachaise cemetery in Paris, the singer’s family announced on Saturday June 15 in Le Figaro. “We will meet in the Dome room of the Père-Lachaise cemetery crematorium (…) on Thursday June 20 from 3 p.m.”wrote in the daily notebook the singer’s husband, Jacques Dutronc, and their son Thomas.
Françoise Hardy, who died after battling cancer that appeared in 2004, had a career spanning more than 50 years in singing, which made her one of the most admired French artists abroad. “Death is only that of the body, which is of material essence. By dying, the body frees the soul which is of spiritual essence. But the fact remains that the death of the body is a trial considerable and I dread it as much as everyone else”, she confided to AFP.
Icon of the sixties, she was the only French representative in the ranking of the 200 best singers of all time by the American magazine Rolling Stone in 2023.
