It will not be compulsory to wear the mask in the polling stations on April 10 and 24, despite the resumption of the Covid-19 epidemic. However, it is strongly recommended.
It will not be mandatory to wear a mask to vote on April 10. And this, even if you are positive for Covid-19. “I remind you that voting is a constitutional right. So nothing can prevent a person from going to vote”, said government spokesman Gabriel Attal on Wednesday, March 30. Wearing a mask is however recommended, especially in the event of contamination with Covid-19.
Health protocol with recommendations
“It’s very important that everyone can go and vote, especially at the moment”, says a woman. In the offices of Linas (Essonne), all the assessors will have to wear the mask, by decision of the mayor. They are also encouraged not to touch voters’ IDs. Finally, Jessica Picard, the head of elections, indicates that “all common sense measures” put in place during previous elections will be retained. A health protocol was announced on the evening of Wednesday March 30, with several recommendations.
