Repairing rather than buying is the objective of the repair bonus set up by the State. This allows you to make great savings on shoe repairs, but also clothing.

Giving your shoes a second life now costs less. Thanks to the textile repair bonus, Odile Berthier benefits from an 8 euro reduction on the repair of a sole. She will ultimately pay 9 euros, instead of 17. The repair bonus is directly deducted from the invoice, and the amount of aid varies depending on the type of intervention: count 8 euros for a shoe pad And 7 euros for a heel cap.

2.3 million euros in savings in 6 months

Result : in six months, 500 pairs were repaired by Mickael Zimmerman, an approved shoemaker. Customers no longer hesitate. “This will encourage more repairs to be made”, estimates the craftsman. The bonus covers the repair of shoes, but also clothes, with 7 euros less on a darning rip, and 10 euros off a lining. “This may encourage me to keep the item of clothing longer”, and to repair instead of buying, confirms Béatrice Travaglini, interviewed by France Télévisions. This repair bonus allowed the French to save 2.3 million euros in six months. But the number of approved repairers still remains limited.
