Christiane Taubira officially declared herself a presidential candidate on Saturday January 15 in Lyon (Rhône). Alexandre Peyrout comments on this announcement for France 3.
The former Keeper of the Seals put an end to a false suspense in front of 400 activists, by declaring himself a candidate for the presidential election, Saturday January 15 in the district of Croix-Rousse in Lyon (Rhône). In her speech, she drew “a draft of his presidential program with three main axes, first the renewal of democracy, ecology but also the social”, relates Alexandre Peyrout.
Two key measures should be taken into account: “the increase of the minimum wage to 1,400 euros net, but also the establishment of an allowance of 800 euros for five years for young people”. The most difficult remains to be done for Christiane Taubira: “trying to rally the left behind her, the left undermined by the popular primary which should take place by the end of January”, relates Alexander Peyrout.
