The provisional toll, after the night of bombings from September 27 to 28 in Beirut, is six dead and 91 injured. Entire families were forced to flee the Lebanese capital after an evacuation warning issued by Israel.

All over the streets of central Beirut (Lebanon), Saturday September 28, residents and families are sitting on the ground. They fled the southern suburbs of the capital, Shiite neighborhoods hit numerous times during the night by the IDF, which says it is targeting Hezbollah. Many people refuse to believe in the elimination of the leader of the Shiite movement.

Israel released a map of its targets, asking residents to stay away. During the night, a huge line of Lebanese formed on foot, trying to escape the bombings. Some spent the night outside, in a park. “We have nothing, no clothes, no money, no sheets.”deplores a woman. “We went through a night of terror, not knowing if a bomb was going to hit us.”confides a man for his part.

“In addition to the strikes, the war, the fear, Lebanon is now plunged into the unknown“, summarizes Luc Lacroix, special correspondent in Beirut.
