With the extreme contagiousness of the Omicron variant, Covid-19 circulates a lot, and faster and faster. However, there are some rather encouraging indicators.
In a parking lot in La Rochelle (Charente-Maritime), hundreds of people are being tested without interruption: 2,100 tests per day on average. The rate of positive people is at record highs. Nevertheless, some figures give hope. For six days, Corsica, Mayotte and Ile-de-France have started a drop in the incidence rate. At the national level, it is the curve of admissions to emergency services due to Covid-19 which is also down.
“At the Seine-Saint-Denis SAMU, which is a very impacted department, we have gone from 1,200 files per day to just over 800. We really have an activity which is higher than normal, but which is in a downtrend“, reports Frédéric Adnet, the head of the emergency department at the Avicenne hospital (AP-HP) in Seine-Saint-Denis. “We saw in the crisis unit that most hospitals had a little less difficulty than the previous days“, declared Martin Hirsch, director of the Public Assistance of Paris hospitals, in an email addressed to his staff.
