the first minutes in Ligue 2 of the promising defender Dembo Sylla

Two months after the resumption of training to which Dembo Sylla was invited, the 19-year-old defender (he will turn 20 in November) took part in his first match in Ligue 2. Things were not necessarily planned for roll out so quickly. But the very interesting performances of Dembo Sylla during the preparation matches convinced the staff and managers of Stade Lavallois to have him sign a professional contract. On August 8, the Laval native signed up for three years with the Mayenne club.

This Saturday August 27, the brother of the athlete Sounkamba Sylla, was able to taste Ligue 2 for the first time. Dembo Sylla was the 19th man during the trip to Bastia, then in the group last week against Metz but he did not come into play.

What satisfaction

At the Costières stadium, coach Olivier Frapolli gave him his chance at the very end of the match. Dembo Sylla came on for Edson Seidou in the 85th minute and played ten minutes: “I am very happy to have had my first appearance in Ligue 2 but I am disappointed with the result. Before going home, the coach told me ‘do what you know how to do and go for it’. There was a little stress but in the end, it’s only satisfaction.

After a somewhat hesitant first touch of the ball, Dembo Sylla remained focused. He did not have the time and the opportunity to express all his qualities. But the future is reaching out to him. We will certainly see Dembo Sylla very soon in Ligue 2 with Stade Lavallois.
