The first “Humanitude” label for home service

On November 8, the 1st Humanitude Label will be awarded to an association for home help and care. Thanks to the Humanitude Label, we now know that there are collective living spaces, where one can feel at home, where care is present, solid but discreet, in open establishments.

Created 30 years ago, Humanitude is a small revolution in the world of geriatrics, disability and care. Invented by two former physical education and sports teachers, Yves Gineste and Rosette Marescotti, this method offers another approach to the care provided to vulnerable people (elderly, disabled, etc.).

It is about rehabilitating the elderly in their dignity and improving the relationship between patients and caregivers.

“Just as we have come to accept that the baby is a whole person, there is still a long way to go for the most vulnerable among us, often weakened and sometimes poorly considered, even mistreated”, emphasizes the Humanitude Label. It is obviously a reflection that leads to humanity when one is a caregiver.

Humanitude is one of the useful methods for a better consideration of people and their needs. Engaging in the labeling project means enhancing its structure, uniting teams, families and customers around a demanding and qualitative approach. All these structures are supported, according to their needs, by the Humanitude training organisations: the Gineste-Marescotti Institutes.

But the Humanitude 2022 label award evening is open to the public. This year, official presentation of the first Home Humanitude Label, to the multi-purpose home help and care service (Spasad) of the Bien-Etre association in Hazebrouk (59).
