In June 2021, the administrative court of Nantes had recognized the responsibility of the SDIS of Maine-et-Loire in the suicide of the young woman.
And now, it is the president of the SDIS of Maine-et-Loire who recognizes, in a decree, that the death of Lauriane is “attributable to the service“.
“It changes a lot of things details his mother Evelyne Amaglio, attributable to the service means, in the jargon of firefighters, dead in the fire. That is to say, I gave my life for the firefighters. It’s because of the firefighters that I left. At first, they wanted to pass her off as someone who was fragile etc… It was unbearable to hear that. This is the reason why we fought and above all that it sets a precedent because Lauriane is not an isolated case.“.
This six-year fight for Lauriane’s memory led by her family and the firefighters’ unions must now be of use to others.
“It repairs Lauriane in dignity, details Sébastien Delavoux, CGT secretary of SDIS 49, it gives hope in justice to his family and it also says to all the little ones who are faced with the same kind of things that yes, when we are together, the collective, can make it possible to obtain justice“.
There remains the criminal aspect of the case. The investigation is still in progress. Lauriane’s parents are hoping for a trial and for the responsibilities of Lauriane’s stalkers to be recognized.
