“With Didier Deschamps, we will begin to study the travel of the French team by train, to Lyon in March, so that it sets a good example and highlights the objective of ecological transition” of the FFF, explained Philippe Diallo at a press conference, its president since June after an interim period following the resignation of Noël Le Graët at the end of February. “In March, I hope, I wish, I think that the French team will travel by train”he insisted.

If the women’s team coached by Hervé Renard and Thierry Henry’s Espoirs have already had the opportunity to take the train, “we are aware of the particular difficulty concerning the French men’s team”added the president. “I asked how we can do this, while respecting sporting requirements; there are questions of travel time, recovery, safety, comfort of other passengers”, he detailed. In the stations, “it is possible to generate a crowd and the trains are not on time”noted the leader.
“In March, we have matches on French territory, we gave ourselves time with the SNCF and the public authorities to study all the facets of this question”he said. “Our objective is clear: to put in place all the conditions for traveling by train”in order to “benefit from the light” media coverage of the Blues and influence all travel in French football, insisted Philippe Diallo.
