“I had a hard time the last few weeks, it was down-up-down-up, but in the downs, it was really like you: do I really belong here?” he admitted. And added: “Because I really had the impression that they saw in me the lyrical singer, whereas it’s been 5 years since I’ve been doing that.”
And for good reason, assures Julien: “Now I still do a lot of soul, I do a lot of variety in big quotes, where it’s just songs for which I write the lyrics. I write my lyrics, and so, well, I don’t want to be in a box. But it’s true that my voice lends itself to that, it’s true that the voice is a tool to express yourself on the subject you want. And so, well, if we say ‘he’s the vocal gem’, while I don’t do that anymore, well.”.
A flawless journey
Fortunately, Julien’s journey so far is royal. He interpreted at the first prime, he interpreted “I promise you” by Johnny Hallyday. For the second, he sang with Louane, “Secret”as well as “Long live” (Andrea Bocelli and Hélène Ségara) with Helena, but also “Leave one day” of 2Be3 and “The important thing is to love” by Pascal Obispo, with in particular Vitaa, the godmother of publishing. At the end of the 2nd week, Julien finished first in the class with an honorable mark of 16/20. For the second, Axel surpassed him (at 15.4), but Julien finished on second place, with a 15.2.
