The Engie group will pay “a supplement” at “all [ses] clients” recipients of the government energy voucher, “i.e. 880,000 people”. “It will take the form of a discount, amounting to 100 euros on average per customer in November”announces the general manager of the company, Catherine MacGregor, in the columns of the Parisian (paid item)Thursday, July 28.

“We are aware of the inflationary reality and concerned about the difficulties encountered by our customers, whether households or manufacturers”assures Catherine MacGregor, who specifies that this measure will cost “90 million euros” in Engie.

No link with the debate on the profits of large groups

In this interview, the general manager of the French group also announces the deployment of a “support fund of 60 million euros for small and medium-sized enterprises”. He should allow them “to have access to the guarantees they need to buy energy”boasts the leader.

This gesture does not respond to the debate launched in Parliament in July on the establishment of a tax on the excess profits made by large groups, says the leader.

TotalEnergies had announced for example a discount of 20 euro cents per liter of fuel at the pump between September and November in all its service stations, then 10 cents per liter for the rest of the year.
