the end of an endless suspense?

The criminal case of Delphine Jubillar, which fascinates the French so much, will perhaps be clarified thanks to a reconstruction at the couple’s home, on November 9, after two years of waiting, questions and suspense. This reconstruction will be an opportunity to answer the last unsolved mysteries of an endless story.

It will take place in the presence of her husband and main suspect, Cédric Jubillar, 35, currently behind bars since June 18, 2021 and who has refuted from the start any involvement in the disappearance of his wife.

Delphine Jubillar disappeared from her home on the night of December 15 to 16, 2020 in Cagnac-les-Mines located in the Tarn, this 33-year-old nurse at the time of the events, seemed to have no reason to disappear “without leaving a trace” and would be, according to his relatives, unable to abandon his two children Louis and Elyah who when he disappeared were aged 6 and 2 respectively.

The purpose of the reconstruction is to bring this decisive night back to life. According to a testimony from our colleagues from La Dépêche, Cédric Jubillar has always evoked the same scenario “I put my phone in airplane mode at 10:08 p.m. and went to bed at 10:30 p.m.”. But the investigators want to clarify one point among others: what did Cédric Jubillar do between the time he called the gendarmerie at 4:09 a.m. and the time the gendarmerie arrived on the scene at 4:52 a.m.?

Screams heard that night

Conflicting versions

The starting point of the argument would be the discovery by Cédric, of messages around 10:55 p.m., sent by Delphine to her lover. The couple separated at the time of the events still lived under the same roof but had a separate room. If Delphine had extra-marital affairs, this also seems to be the case with Cédric Jubillar who was registered on a dating site under the pseudonym “jujubi35” at the time of the events. They were in the process of a divorce and according to Cédric Jubillar, it was “an amicable divorce” before the investigators discovered various evidence and testimonies which darken the picture of this man.

According to the testimony of a childhood friend of Cédric in the columns of La Dépêche: ” I think he lives with a lot of pain because it’s all a mess and he knows it. I don’t want to judge him. He felt neglected by Delphine whom I knew. When I see the state of their house, half finished, it reflects this feeling of abandonment felt by Cédric, a few months before Delphine’s disappearance. He no longer shaved, let himself go… He was not comfortable in his own skin. I saw him thinner, he no longer wanted to make an effort. Cédric felt alone “.

During searches by the gendarmes, Delphine’s pair of broken glasses had been found and Louis confirmed that Delphine was wearing them on the night of her disappearance. The analysis proved that it was an external force and not wear and tear that broke them, contrary to what Cédric Jubillar claimed.

This confirms the version of their eldest son, Louis, who said he heard his parents arguing, he even speaks of a fight scene between his parents that night, a version never stated by the main suspect. At present, it is unknown whether the eldest will be present during the reenactment, it remains a possibility.

An endless wait

According to the lawyers of Cédric Jubillar “We are told of a stab wound in the living room, of a strangulation, of screams outside and of the transport of the body in a white car inside which we do not find no trace… we should know, once and for all, what our client is accused of”, exclaims Me Jean-Baptiste Alary, one of Cédric Jubillar’s three lawyers, with Mes Franck and Martin. Cédric Jubillar will not do what he did not do, during this reconstitution, we will be very vigilant on this.

As for Delphine’s relatives, it is a new hope to discover what really happened that evening, the latter being convinced of the involvement of Delphine’s husband.
