The writing of Marianneon strike since Friday morning against the takeover of the weekly by Pierre-Edouard Stérin, announced Friday June 28 in the early evening to return to work after the suspension of negotiations between the billionaire and shareholder Daniel Kretinsky. “This development justifies the resumption of work in order to allow the monitoring of political news in the days to come”, explain the employees of the weekly. “On the other hand, the editorial team remains determined to obtain a firm commitment that the newspaper will not be bought by Pierre-Edouard Stérin,” they add.

“We stand ready to resume the strike, in the event that Daniel Kretinsky and his representative Denis Olivennes do not take a public position to this effect in the coming days,” warns the editorial staff.

On Thursday, the latter unanimously expressed its rejection of the takeover by Pierre-Edouard Stérin, the day after an article in World lending him political connections with the RN. In this article, the daily newspaper assures that several LR-RN candidates in the legislative elections come from the “Stérin galaxy”notably by being linked to the Common Good Fund, a philanthropic structure created by the 50-year-old billionaire at the head of the investment fund Otium Capital.
