The drought intensifies in Ille-et-Vilaine, the prefecture reinforces water restrictions

The land lacks water. The sun beats down. The drought is getting worse in Ille-et-Vilaine, so the prefecture is reviewing the drought alert levels, this Tuesday, August 2: two-thirds of the department are “in crisis”the maximum level, the rest is “enhanced alert”the stadium just below.

From Dinard via Rennes to Redon and Bain-de-Bretagne, this entire sector is in purple on the map of the prefecture. This means that the maximum drought alert level has been reached. Concretely, it is forbidden to water your vegetable garden between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Washing your car is prohibited, unless it meets a security or health purpose. It is also forbidden to water his lawn, his plants as well as to put water in his swimming pool.

Only two sectors are on “enhanced alert”, the stadium just below. This is the south-west of the department and the east, around Vitré. In these conditions, it is necessary to limit the use of water for gardens, lawns, washing your car.
