You will soon no longer need to bring your prescriptions, test results or hospitalization report when you go to see a doctor. The government has just launched a new digital tool “My health space”. This is a computerized and secure medical file that will be shared between health professionals and yourself. The goal is to better coordinate the care pathway.
85% of the population is concerned in Indre-et-Loire
In our department, 526,000 people insured under the general scheme are affected by the implementation of this new tool. From this Monday, February 14 and until the end of March, if you live in Indre-et-Loire, you will receive an email or a postal mail from Health Insurance mentioning the possibility of creating your health space. A provisional code will be assigned to you to validate your registration, a registration which is not compulsory.
The idea is to be able to store and access your medical data on the internet, to inform yourself of your latest treatments, allergies or vaccines for example; data that healthcare professionals will also have access to; possibility also of exchanging information with the doctor(s) following you via a messaging service set up.
The digital divide is still present for many users
For those who do not have internet access, they can be accompanied, explains Christophe Beauquel, health area referent of the CPAM of Indre-et-Loire: “When you have an Ameli account open for a patient, you have their email address so you can email them the notification of the creation of my health space, if you don’t have an email address it’s a postal mail that is sent. If the person already had a shared medical file before, the data will remain as is, otherwise the doctor will be able to put a medical summary and the patient himself will be able to feed a medical profile in which he will be able to note the medical history such as allergies, any vaccines he may have had. Even if you don’t have internet access, the patient can use digital advisors in the France service spaces, there is also telephone support set up, 34-22, which allows you to obtain information on how My space works. health“.
After the repeated failures of the personal medical file (DMP) promised since 2004, the success of the reform is far from certain. On the general public side, “large audience” information campaigns are announced from mid-February. The fact remains that the software of health professionals and hospitals is not yet all compatible with “My health space”, whose “massive and automated supply” is expected in 2023.
