The Deux-Sèvres are placed in vigilance red heat wave by Météo France like 14 other departments on the Atlantic coast from this Monday, July 18, 2022 at noon. “The heatwave episode requires particular vigilance, due to the extreme heat peak expected for the day on Monday when the maximum could reach 40 or even 42 degrees”indicates the Deux-Sèvres prefecture.
Public events prohibited from noon to 9 p.m. outdoors and in non-air-conditioned places
The prefecture issuing an order prohibiting the holding of any public, festive or sporting event, outdoors or in non-air-conditioned establishments open to the public from Monday July 18, 2022 from noon to 9 p.m., then the following days from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The firing of entertainment fireworks and torchlight processions are also prohibited from Monday July 18, 2022.
These prohibitions apply until extreme heat wave red vigilance is lifted.
“The prefect calls on all workers to be extremely vigilant, especially for activities carried out outdoors or in non-air-conditioned premises”. In addition, the prefecture indicates that from this Monday, “medico-social establishments, health establishments and health professionals will strengthen their preventive actions as well as home nursing services. The visits to homeless people are reinforced in order to provide them with all the necessary help “.
In Parthenay, the FLIP closed from noon to 9 p.m. this Monday
The Parthenay International Playful Festival is impacted by this red alert. FLIP will be closed Monday, July 18 from noon to 9 p.m. Spaces will be open in the morning. The children’s village on Place de la Mairie and the games village on Place du Drapeau are open from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Remember to protect yourself from the sun and to hydrate yourself regularly. Water points are available to festival-goers. In the evening, the Reels villages and the playful parallel village will open from 9 p.m.
