Be careful in the center-west of the country. Météo France maintained, on Saturday December 16, three departments on orange alert for floods: Charente, Charente-Maritime, and Gironde. This vigilance was lifted for the Dordogne in the morning. The overall situation should improve in France. The weather has been generally dry since Friday and has allowed a gradual decline upstream of swollen rivers, explains VigiCrues.

On rivers on yellow alert, moderate floods are spreading, generating localized overflows. On rivers on orange alert – Dronne aval (16, 24, 17, 33), Isle aval (33, 24), Charente upstream (16), Charente average (16), Charente aval (17) – floods continue their slow spread towards downstream sectors, generating damaging overflows.
