The departmental council of Seine-Maritime announces Monday, October 10 that it is affected by a “large-scale information attack” and had to “cut off completely [ses] networks to isolate, secure and protect the community”, reports France Bleu Normandie. The institution “acts fully for a return to a normal situation as soon as possible”. The National Information Systems Security Agency (Anssi) works with the department’s IT departments.

The departmental services whose procedures are dematerialized are at a standstill, such as the departmental house for people with disabilities, applications for measures concerning youth, sport, or even the portal for subsidies to municipalities. Other procedures can only be done by paper, such as files for assistance to the elderly and the disability compensation benefit.
The cyberattack has no consequences on the digital workspace of the colleges, nor the files of the beneficiaries of the RSA or the direction of the roads. The museums are open but the ticket offices cannot accept payment by credit card.
