The ban on movement between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. throughout the territory of Martinique has been extended until Wednesday 8 December at 5 a.m. in order to limit the risk of disturbances to public order during the night and reduce the risks for people and goods, indicates this Friday evening (December 3, 2021), the prefecture of Martinique.
This measure will be adapted on Wednesday, after consultation, in particular with elected officials, depending on the security and health situation.
To restore calm after unprecedented violence in Martinique, from November 22, 2021, on the sidelines of the call for a general strike against the vaccine obligation, the health pass and the cost of living, the prefecture had established a new curfew November 25, 2021 at 7 p.m.
The goal of the curfew is to allow the police to better ensure security and limit free movement within a framework provided for by law.
