Unemployment continues to decline in France, with 3.321 million registered with Pôle Emploi. Unheard of since October 2008. To help the unemployed find work, certain alternative methods exist, as in Manosque, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence.

Stéphane Vendais is looking for his dream job in Manosque, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. When he walks through the door of this ephemeral business, he is no longer unemployed, but becomes an associate for two months. Former salespeople, cooks, secretaries will together create a fictitious business. They will each occupy a position, with a common objective: to find a job, helped by coaches.

A new start five days a week, seven hours a day, for this single father, after two years of inactivity. “Getting up every morning, seeing people, it’s all good. Finding momentum, energy, it’s important”, says Stéphane Vendais. On average, 65% of ephemeral business participants find a job within six months.
