The 39-year-old Argentinian who accused two French rugby players of rape in July has broken her silence. In an interview with AFP on Thursday, September 5, she said she felt “abandoned by justice”who allowed the players to return to France, but says she is convinced that “social justice will condemn them” as “rapists”. “I feel abandoned by the justice system in Mendoza. They treat me like a criminal when I am the victim.”said “Maria,” as she wishes to be identified.

The two players, Hugo Auradou and Oscar Jegou, returned to France on Wednesday evening, after the Argentine justice system authorized them to leave the country, following the recommendation of the Mendoza prosecutor’s office, for whom “the initial accusation has lost its force”The players, who claim the sex was consensual, remain charged with aggravated gang rape, and a hearing is due in the coming days to consider a request for dismissal filed by their lawyers.

Bitterly, “Maria” considers in her interview that “Money moves mountains, and (that) France has moved a lot of money to try to get them out of the country, as it has succeeded in doing. Justice will be done through social justice, they will be condemned socially, because my testimony is true and honest”she insists.

“Both sexually abused me”she reaffirms, referring to Oscar Jegou, who later returned to the hotel room. “Both hit me” And “must pay. No less than 20 years in prison” – maximum penalty in principle for aggravated gang rape. “They are not heroes. They are two rotten apples of French rugby”she accuses.

Asked about the threats of further prosecution against her, a hypothesis raised – but not decided at this stage – by the Argentinian lawyers of the two players, she in return attacked one of the lawyers of the two players, Rafael Cuneo Libarona, who is the brother of the current Minister of Justice in the government of Javier Milei. “This lawyer is not well in his head, I am the one who will file a complaint against him, for all the professional errors he has committed”to have it according to her “denigrated”And “treated as a VIP prostitute”she says.
