This was announced by the mayor’s office in a statement released on Friday. “The transition to the hybrid model and this transition to a new normal will allow a balance between work-family balance and a strong sense of belonging to the organization”, we can read.

Of the 28,000 employees, 25% have remained in full-time telecommuting since the start of the pandemic, while the majority of employees have already returned to their offices or are there on a regular basis.

“This return to the office is good news for the city. This is a strong signal for the economic recovery of the city center. We need to lead by example and we encourage other organizations and businesses to follow suit. Together we will build the Montreal of today and tomorrow, ”declared the mayoress of Montreal, Valérie Plante.

This face-to-face return to work is particularly possible following the relaxation of health measures announced by the Government of Quebec and the lifting of the teleworking order. Remember that the Committee on Standards, Equity, Health and Safety at Work (CNESST) has also confirmed that the minimum distance between people is now reduced to one meter indoors.
