Madonna stops in Montreal Thursday and Saturday to present her show Celebration. Her admirers should expect to stay up late since the Queen Mother of Pop is accustomed to taking the stage at a time when many other artists arrive for encore.
The doors of the Bell Center are scheduled to open around 7:30 p.m. this Thursday for the first of two Madonna concerts. A DJ must then warm up the atmosphere from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and the star of the evening must appear on stage 15 minutes later, around 9:45 p.m.
However, this scenario may not be followed to the minute.
In recent weeks, Madonna has more than once appeared on stage later than expected. It was after 10:15 p.m. when she appeared Friday in Toronto, reports the Toronto Sun. In December, in Brooklyn, it was around 11 p.m., wrote the Huffington Post. This late start was apparently the result of a technical problem that occurred earlier in the day during the sound check.
The show Celebration, which notably includes Bob the Drag Queen, lasts a little over 2 hours. Madonna goes through more than four decades of hits, going back to Everybody (1982) and Burning Up (1983).
Remember that Madonna was supposed to be in town last August, but a portion of her tour had to be postponed due to her hospitalization in June. She then contracted a serious bacterial infection.
