The list of problems is getting longer for Les Bleues. The day after the inaugural draw against Jamaica, it is the physical condition of Wendie Renard that worries. The captain of the France team had an MRI at midday, Monday July 24, on the sidelines of training. She felt pain in one calf, which is not related to a blow.
The Lyonnaise did not participate in the collective session, like the other holders. But while some of the players who started the match against Jamaica ran and stretched at the edge of the pitch, she briefly stepped onto the pitch, before leaving it almost immediately and did not reappear.
Naomie Feller also did not participate in today’s session. The Madrilenian also had an MRI, Sunday evening after the meeting, for discomfort in the thigh. These glitches are in addition to the physical problems encountered by several players since the arrival in Australia, particularly in defense.
Forfeited against Jamaica after suffering a calf blow, Elisa De Almeida ran and touched the ball in training on Monday. Lateral used as a winger by Renard, Selma Bacha, victim of a sprain during the last preparation match, resumed collective training, after taking part in the warm-up on the lawn of the Sydney Football Stadium on Sunday evening.
Les Bleues have five days to recover before facing Brazil on Saturday (12:00 p.m.), against whom they will not have the right to make mistakes after having grilled their joker against Jamaica.
