18-year-old forward Joshua Roy agreed to the terms of a three-year entry-level contract with the Canadiens on Wednesday morning.

The agreement covers the 2022-2023 to 2024-2025 seasons. If he plays in the NHL next season, he will earn $740,000 in the NHL, in addition to a signing bonus of $92,500. If he plays in the junior ranks instead, his salary will be $10,500.

For the next two seasons, Roy will earn $775,000 in the NHL, in addition to signing bonuses of $92,500 (2023-2024) and $85,000 (2024-2025). If he plays in the American League, he will earn $80,000.

Fifth round pick in 2021, Joshua Roy is the second scorer in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (LHJMQ) this season, at just 18 years old. He has 36 goals and 56 assists for 92 points with the Sherbrooke Phoenix.
