The phenomenon is not new, but the trend is on the rise: between the hot weather and the covid epidemic, sales of above-ground pools have exploded over the past three years. “People are looking for freshness, pleasure, directly at home,” explains Sandrine Figaro, manager of the Cash Piscine store, in Chambray-lès-Tours. “We feel that the health crisis has passed through there, because they express more and more the desire to stay between them, in their garden, and not at the municipal swimming pool”.
Find a swimming pool at your foot
There are swimming pools of all sizes, all shapes, and for all budgets: “it ranges from the small self-supporting swimming pool at 15 euros to refresh the children, to the complete buried swimming pool which can easily go up to at 20, 25,000 euros. what we sell the most is the classic tubular“.

Be careful, installing a swimming pool is not just about buying a pool! You have to think about maintenance, cleaning, accessories, wintering… “Often people think they can put their swimming pool in the garden for two months and be quiet” resumes Sandrine Figaro. “While not : a swimming pool is time, maintenance, and patience.” She also warns against scams, or unprofessional sales that are proliferating at the moment: “We have a lot of customers who come to see us with damaged or poor quality material, bought on the right corner. You have to be careful not to get fooled!”
