A disappearance that continues to cause ink to flow… Since July 8, 2023, the date on which Émile was last seen in Haut-Vernet, not far from his grandparents’ house, the question remains the same : what happened to the little boy aged two and a half?
More than two months after the disappearance of the child in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence while the investigation continues to find him, the hypotheses are multiplying. As proof, the investigation was extended to the heads of“kidnapping, arrest, detention and sequestration of minors”.

The excavations continue
While at the beginning of the week, the investigation into Emile’s disappearance led investigators to a house in the hamlet of Haut-Vernet located a few hundred meters from the home of the little boy’s grandparents, the latter carried out the destruction of a long concrete slab installed during work this summer. Excavations which made it possible to rule out the slightest doubt and above all to concentrate on other avenues.
As proof, according to information from BFM DICI,“divers from the gendarmerie have been present in the town since Tuesday morning” to search a “a small water reservoir of around 1500 square meters, usually used in the event of a fire”.
“This research is part of the continuity of the investigation in order to carry out new verifications as part of a removal of doubt”a source immediately indicated to our colleagues at Le Figaro this Tuesday, September 19, 2023. Rapid searches since the divers should not spend more than two hours in the water in search of a possible clue.
