Tuesday March 12, the pact signed between France and Ukraine will be debated in the Assembly. The binational security agreement provides, among other things, three billion euros in military support in 2024.
Almost a month after Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to France, Ukraine once again took part in the debates in the National Assembly as part of a binational security agreement, Tuesday March 12. France is committed to protecting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. This pact provides above all an important military component, but no sending of ground troops. The French state will continue to send weapons, ammunition and train Ukrainian soldiers and pilots, while offering support in mine clearance, cyber defense and intelligence missions.
A very political debate
On the economic front, the pact provides for three billion euros of military support in 2024. Humanitarian aid will continue, but it is not quantified. The issue of the debate Parliament is very political. The majority wants the oppositions to publicly position themselves on their support or not for Ukraine.
