In Ukraine, kyiv announced on Friday May 12 that it had taken over territories around the city of Bakhmout. The leader of the Russian paramilitary group Wagner accuses the Russian regular troops of fleeing their positions.

Kiev indicates that its troops have advanced two kilometers around Bakhmout, a city located in eastern Ukraine, devastated after months of fighting and partly controlled by Russian troops. For its part, Moscow denies having retreated in certain areas, but indicates that a Ukrainian attack did take place around the city.
China to send special representative to Ukraine and Russia
In a video, Evgueni Prigojine, leader of the Russian paramilitary group Wagner which holds part of the city, accuses the army of having abandoned the positions it held. “The flanks are collapsing. The maneuvers of the Russian Ministry of Defense will lead to a great tragedy for Russia. Therefore, you must stop lying. If you have fled, you must prepare new defensive lines”he announces.
