After several months of reflection, TVA management agreed that it was time for Artis to bow out. “The world of media and television is constantly changing. What was a guarantee of success in the past is no longer always so relevant today. This is the case with traditional galas, which no longer correspond exactly to their original mission. Moreover, the interest in this kind of evenings is in decline throughout the world, ”comments TVA in a press release sent to the media on Tuesday.

“We are convinced that the influence of our industry and its artisans depends first and foremost on the creation of original content,” adds the management of TVA.

Previously MétroStar, the Artis gala was the only award show given entirely by the public, not the industry, still on the air. Charles Lafortune and Guy Jodoin therefore hosted the very last Artis gala, in May 2021, which was seen by 1.17 million viewers; down from previous years.
