A new end-of-career agreement has been reached at SNCF for “restrict” the effects of pension reform. He “is not satisfactory”said Bruno Le Maire, the Minister of the Economy, Thursday May 2, on BFMTV. “There was a malfunction”he declared about this compromise which plans to split the end of careers into two periods: one where the employee works and is paid 100% and another, where he no longer works but remains paid at 75%.

“I was not warned”, added Bruno Le Maire. Conceding that it is up to the boss of the SNCF to manage relations with the union organizations, “the responsible minister must be kept informed”he stressed. “I therefore summoned the boss and general manager of the SNCF to report to me on this agreement which gives a feeling of double standards, which is very provocative for many of our compatriots”, specified Bruno Le Maire. He must meet him “in the next few days”.

“The SNCF has the right to its company agreements, it has the right to its adjustments”noted the Minister of Transport, Patrice Vergriete, on Monday.
