the agreement found in the joint joint committee proves “that it is possible to find compromises”, according to a Renaissance deputy

Marc Ferracci welcomed on franceinfo an “improved text”, “to take into account very specific situations”.

“I rejoice” of the agreement reached on the pension reform in the Joint Joint Committee (CMP) “because it is proof that it is possible to find compromises both between the Assembly and the Senate, and between political groups with different sensitivities”greeted Wednesday March 15 on franceinfo Marc Ferracci, vice-president of the Renaissance group in the National Assembly and deputy of the French established outside France.

“The text has been improved”, specifies Marc Ferracci, while the agreement in CMP was obtained by 10 votes against four. He points in particular “the improvement of the long career system, with in particular the possibility for people who started working before the age of 21 to leave once they have 43 years of contributions”. It was “an important request from the LR group in the National Assembly, but also from the Horizons group, which belongs to the presidential majority”he points out.

An “improved” text

The other element that “reached consensus” concerns women “who will continue to work after 63 years” and that “will benefit from a premium once they have obtained the maternity quarters”. The text also “reintegrated into the famous senior index”adds Marc Ferracci, “an element of corporate accountability”.

The text of the reform will return Thursday, March 16 to the Senate in the morning, before being submitted to the vote of the deputies in the afternoon, “a very important issue”, recalls Marc Ferracci. He hopes the government “will not have to resort to this constitutional tool” which is Article 49.3 of the Constitution.

“It’s a democratic tool. But I concede that using 49.3 would not be good news, compared to passing the reform by vote.”

“We spent time trying to convince. And I think the text has seen a lot of adjustments that go in the right direction, a lot of improvements to take into account very specific situations”, insists Marc Ferracci. He boasts “a balanced text” and appeals “to responsibility” parliamentarians. “Behind all the discussions that have taken place in recent weeks, behind all the doubts that have been expressed by a certain number of deputies, I think that there is a fundamental issue behind this vote, it is the issue responsibility” vis à vis “of our pay-as-you-go system” And “future generations”.

Last vote in Parliament this Thursday

“A reform like this is not based on opinion polls, it is based on the general interest”, adds Marc Ferracci. He finally says he is sure of “achieve a majority with the support of a large part of the Les Républicains group”.
