Presidential candidates challenged by people with disabilities on their difficulties in accessing housing, education, mobility and many other topics. Day of mobilization everywhere in France this Wednesday, March 9 at the call of the association APF France which denounces the absence of the subject of disability in the political debate. A movement which aims to draw the attention of the pretenders to the Elysée on the fate of people with disabilities who feel forgotten, abandoned, invisible.
“We are citizens like the others”
Stéphanie, a motor-disabled woman from Mayen, is waiting for concrete proposals, it will be decisive for his vote, she says: “I ask that we be listened to, we are citizens like the others, we vote. That we are not forgotten by the electoral campaigns, by this presidential election! I hope that the great leader we will elect will tell us that ‘He will do things like maintain the autonomy of the disabled with the necessary means. My voice really counts’.
12 million French people suffer from a disability and this question does not seem to be the priority of the presidential candidates. It is for this reason that the APF France Handicap called for mobilization.
