How can you be sure that the clothing you buy is really respectful of
the environment ? The journalist Sandrine Feydelpresent on the set of 19/20,
Thursday April 14, gives some advice on this.

To check if the garment you buy is environmentally friendly,
he there are several labels. “You can trust Slow We Are for example created by
of the French in 2016. They have a very comprehensive approach, with more than 350 criteria
examined, production, social practices, the possibility of recycling”,
detailed Sandrine Feydel, present on the set of 19/20, Thursday April 14. In
the same meaning, there is also the GOTS label or even Oeko-Tex which indicates the absence of
products toxic.

However, how do you avoid the pitfalls? The price is a first indicator. “A
new t-shirt at 2 euros cannot have been produced in good conditions
social and environmental”explains Sandrine Feydel. A high price does not guarantee
not no longer good conditions then the 2nd indicator is thelabel.“The
place of manufacture and the origin of the raw materials are good
directions, she continues. The journalist also recommends to be careful
to the argument of “virtuous last mile” carried out on a bicycle which does not indicate
the route traveled before.
