The names of the victims and their positions at the hospital were not immediately released.
The hospital network said in a statement that it mourned the deaths. “The Methodist Health System family is heartbroken over the loss of two of our beloved team members,” a statement from the network read. Our entire organization mourns this unimaginable tragedy. »
The suspect, whose name has also not been released at this time, was taken to another hospital. His condition is not known and he is in custody, Mr Owens said.
Dallas police referred the questions to hospital police, who did not return phone calls for comment.
The shooting follows hospital shootings in September in Little Rock, Arkansas, which killed one visitor, and in June in Tulsa, Oklahoma, which left four people dead.
