The safe bet: The children of the tower
No, this is not a new issue, but a special edition of TV kids dedicated to the famous skyscraper at 1400, boul. René-Lévesque Est, which Radio-Canada will leave in a few months, after having lived there for 49 years. To rehash memories related to the brown tower, André Robitaille and Édith Cochrane receive eight personalities who have marked its history: Véronique Cloutier, Bernard Derome, France Castel, Jean-Philippe Wauthier, Aline Desjardins, René Homier-Roy, Pénélope McQuade and Jacques Baker. An extremely busy hour, full of interesting anecdotes, during which you will see a montage of the most important variety numbers presented at Studio 42, Véro suffer martyrdom by seeing a blunder made live again and Céline Dion sing at the beautiful sundays.

The return : ideas of grandeur in my yard
We’ve always loved the renovation-decoration show ideas of grandeur, indoor and outdoor version, regardless of who hosted it, Isabelle Racicot or Stéphane Richard. Unsurprisingly, we really appreciate its new version piloted by Félix-Antoine Tremblay. In this first episode, we redo the backyard of a couple of CrossFit enthusiasts who want to have a shower, a spa, and a lounge area. We find two favorite designers from the first seasons, Denis Bourgeois and Jacinthe Leroux. Who will be selected to lead the participants’ project? Because we’re not ones to divulge anything, you’ll have to watch the show to find out the answer.
Canal Vie, Tuesday at 9 p.m.
The novelty : Is It Cake?
You’ve all watched – voluntarily or not – these videos on Instagram, YouTube and company. You know those compilations of cakes in the shape of everyday objects (bar soap, bowling ball, roll of toilet paper, Croc sandals…) that you cut with a long knife to reveal their soft center? Sensing a good deal, Netflix decided to transform the internet phenomenon into a competition. And it is a success. It was the number 1 show on the video-on-demand service last week. The concept is simple: nine particularly talented pastry chefs must create hyper-realistic trompe-l’oeil desserts that will fool the judges. Certainly, we did not need a season of 9 episodes of 40 minutes, because, after 2, we were satisfied. But because we’re greedy and we haven’t had indigestion yet, maybe we’ll take another bite…

The event: The Grammys
All the details about the 64and edition of the Grammy Awards have not yet filtered, but since Trevor Noah (The Daily Show) will be in charge, we will be there. Artists confirmed to attend the gala include Billie Eilish, Nas, Chris Stapleton, Brandi Carlile, Olivia Rodrigo, Lil Nas X, HER and Jack Harlow. Kanye West was originally scheduled to perform there, but the Academy withdrew his invitation because he allegedly exhibited “worrying behavior online”. Since this year, the ceremony will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, we can hope for a surprise appearance from Celine Dion, if only to reassure her fans who have been worried about her absence for a few months.
CBS, Sundays at 8 p.m.
