The safe bet

Quiet, let’s play!

Because we all need half an hour a day of harmless fun given the news of the last few days, Quiet, let’s play! represents a safe bet. And this year, in terms of absurd and hilarious moments, Patrice L’Ecuyer’s show is up to the task. One thinks in particular of the recent passage of comedian Virginie Fortin, who, having to quickly draw up a list of five “things she would never want to see in her home”, began with: “My father’s penis. His totally instinctive response caused hilarity not only in the studio, but also in many living rooms. Here is a minute of giggles which should lengthen our life expectancy by a good five years. (And we salute Bernard Fortin.)

ICI Télé, Monday to Friday at 5:30 p.m.

dream pools

IMAGE PROVIDED BY TRUE

The documentary series dream pools is presented on the Vrai platform.

This documentary series produced by Sphère Média (One way ticket, Transplant) is aptly named. The swimming pools it presents are indeed salivating. Is it cruel to watch the installation of high-end swimming pools in the middle of winter, when summer, the swimming season, is far from over? May be. But since we have a small (big) weakness for each design/renovation/decoration program that lands on the airwaves, we are ready to forget this detail… especially since in this new series of episodes, the consultant and aquatic builder Quebecer Joël-Éric will have the challenge of installing a suspended swimming pool.

Julie Snyder on break, Marie-Lyne Joncas returns to the controls of the Noovo talk show this week. As we liked her previous replacements, we will take a look at the meeting, especially on Wednesday, when she will receive her idol, singer Laurence Jalbert. Also among the guests: Marc Fournier from District 31 Monday, Jean-Nicolas Verreault (The yard is full!) Tuesday and François Létourneau, Marilyn Castonguay, Karine Gonthier-Hyndman and Patrice Robitaille on Wednesday, to talk about new episodes of That’s how I love you.

Noovo, Monday to Thursday at 9 p.m.

Downfall – The Boeing Affair

PHOTO PROVIDED BY NETFLIX

The film Downfall – The Boeing Affair is featured on Netflix.

Warning: do not watch Downfall – The Boeing Affair (French version of Downfall: The Case Against Boeing) if you are afraid of plane crashes. While we are slowly starting to travel again, it would be a shame if this hour and a half nailed you to the ground for another two years. Directed by Rory Kennedy, youngest daughter of Robert F. Kennedy, this film attacks the famous aerospace manufacturer who, for the sake of profitability, neglected the safety of the devices he sent into the air. The proof ? The crashes of two Boeing MAX 737 aircraft five months apart in 2018 and 2019 that killed 346 people. Usually, we are not particularly fond of reconstructions. But here, they send shivers down your spine.
