The novelty : my first house

my first house should appeal to fans of documentary series and renovation or decoration shows. This new offering from Canal Vie dissects the move of Mélissa Bédard, who is leaving her small rented semi-detached to realize her dream of buying her first property with her husband, Karl, and above all, their six children (three girls, three boys). Aired last week, the first episode had a particularly moving scene, when the singer cried in front of the lens, saying how proud she was of herself, and particularly of the efforts she made to save money. This week, we meet Joanie, her best friend and site manager, who will support designer Antoine Laurier to make her new home to her liking.

Canal Vie, Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

The roll of the dice: Queens

Queens

Admittedly, ABC canceled this series after a single season of 13 episodes, for lack of sufficient ratings… But we still enjoyed following this soap de luxe, which tells the story of four ex-members of a popular band from the 1990s, aptly named Nasty Bitches, who decide to make their “big” comeback. However, this reunion turns out to be more complicated than expected: rivalries resurface, old wounds fester, and so on. Queens has not revolutionized anything, hence its zero selection at the next Emmy Awards. Its French version, however, could entertain you and become your fall guilty pleasure, especially since it features two former R&B stars, Eve and Brandy.

ELLE Fictions, from Wednesday at 9 p.m.

The last : There are people at mass

There are people at mass

Christian Bégin completes the sixth season of talk show spring-summer of Télé-Québec with comedian Phil Roy, the mayor of Quebec Bruno Marchand (who explains how his studies in philosophy help him today), the rapper and host Marième, pioneer of hip-hop in Quebec , and France D’Amour, who revisits her greatest hits. In music, the host receives Élage Diouf, who launched in the spring Wutiko, his third album entirely recorded in Wolof, his mother tongue from Senegal. Are you one of the Yammeux and Yammeuses (nickname given to the faithful apostles of the show) who may miss the weekly meeting this fall? Know that a special Christmas program is brewing for December.

Télé-Québec, Friday at 9 p.m.

In catch-up: DD Mary — Death by Prescription

DD Mary — Death by Prescription

Did you miss this English-Canadian series the first time it aired, from 2017 to 2019 on Global? It’s your lucky day. The French version lands on MAX this week. In this drama/thriller tinged with dark humour, Caroline Dhavernas plays a single mother who leads a double life: she is a doctor by day… and a criminal by night, since she illegally helps her patients die. This is a rich and complex role for the Quebec actress, who has dubbed herself. The first episode immerses us in the heart of the action from the start, as Mary arrives at the home of a former football player suffering from a disease that we guess is incurable.

MAX, starting Thursday at 8 p.m.
