A thousand bad choices

Twenty years after his first solo show, Louis-José Houde is reinventing himself (in part) with A thousand bad choices, a fifth intimate, cynical and dark (but first and foremost funny!) one-man show in which he depicts his daily life since his breakup with actress Magalie Lépine-Blondeau (whom he never names). Captured on 16 mm cinematographic film at the Lion d’Or cabaret in May 2022, this performance rich in secrets reveals a humorist who is sometimes vulnerable (he lives alone in a too big house in which he was to start a family), sometimes splitting (doesn’t achalez more with your anecdotes that never end). The faithful will not be too destabilized. Skeptics might be confused.

the island of love

the island of love

Our favorite times of the year are (in order) Christmas, summer, the first ski descent after a big snowstorm… and the announcement of the candidates for the island of love. And this season, the email revealing the identity of the first 10 islanders in jerseys did not disappoint. From Kim, who loves “a guy who can change his own car tires”, to Léonie, who has already “broken her elbow playing arm wrestling”, passing by Kevin, who collects scented candles , Destiny, a budding magician who “knows how to make hats out of balloons”, and Dan, who eats three raw eggs a day, the 2023 vintage promises. Another positive point: Geneviève Schmidt provides the narration, in support of host Olivier Dion.

More than 10,000 people marched in Montreal on July 27, 1989 in support of Chantale Daigle.

The Chantale Daigle affair: the documentary

At the same time as the sixth and final episode of Disobey: Chantale Daigle’s choice, the fiction series on the icon of the pro-choice movement who fought all the way to the Supreme Court to claim his right to abort, comes this vibrant documentary carried by Noémi Mercier. For nearly an hour, the former Noovo antenna manager takes us back to this sensitive period of 1989, using archive images and enlightening interviews, with activists in particular, who recount in detail the secret operation they carried out to enable Chantale to cross the border and obtain her abortion in Boston, United States.

They

They

In this documentary series written and directed by Sabrina Hammoum (A roof for me, Koriass, come back from afar), the rapper Sarahmée travels the world to meet determined and united women who want to change their conditions. The season started last Friday in France. This week, Sarahmée stops in Mexico, a country with not very good statistics on violence against women, including the following: in 2021, 3880 women died there murdered, or 10 women per day. And less than a quarter of those murders have been investigated. We can also see the singer practicing rock climbing and recording a new song in the company of female musicians who talk about the discrimination they suffer.

TV5, Friday, at 9 p.m.
