Swiss artist Nemo won the 68th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, which was held on Saturday May 11 in Malmö, Sweden. After a week marked by controversies and current events in the Middle East, music took back its rights for an evening, and it is the non-binary artist, aged 24, with the song The Code, recounts his difficult quest for identity, which imposed itself. The artist was acclaimed by the jury who credited him with a large lead, and gathered a significant share of the public vote to resist the rise of his rivals. “I hope this competition can continue to encourage peace and dignity for everyone”declared the 24-year-old artist who gave the Helvetii a third victory in the competition.

The French competitor, Slimane, achieved a great performance, with his song My love. Second at the end of the jury vote, he was unable to sufficiently seduce the public in a very polarized vote to maintain a place on the podium. This remains one of France’s best results in the 21st century, after Barbara Pravi’s 2nd place in 2021.
